DIY Strawberry mask for Acne prone skin

Hello Beauties!

I have been totally trying out natural products for my acne prone skin lately and those includes lots of natural DIY’s too. Natural masks do not give extreme results but for the moment they help control acne which is what you need to try doing first. One such mask is using strawberries! Did you guys know strawberry is a source for salicylic acid? Which is a well know ingredient used in products careered for acne prone skin! Why not do it naturally? I have to tell you that the mask will look like a strawberry milkshake so don’t end up drinking it all :)

What do you need?
Strawberries
Honey
Lemon
Yogurt

The measurements all depend on how you like the consistency to be but the main ingredient are the berries!

What do you need to do?

Step 1: mash up the strawberries. You can do them by hand or even puree them in a food processor I prefer pureed berries for this.

Step 2: squeeze in little bit of the lemon. The lemon will act as a preservative letting you store the mask for future use and it’s also a chemical exfoliate that removes dead skin cells.

Step 3: next mix in the honey. Honey is a natural moisturizer and also brightens the skin complexion it also has anti bacterial properties to clear out bacteria just like strawberries.

Step 4: finally mix the above mixture with the yogurt. The yogurt is to bring the mask to a consistency that’s easy to apply and also it has good things of its own such as fighting bacteria! I recommend using non fat yogurt. If you feel that you mask is runny, add in a teaspoon of corn starch to ring it together.

How to use it?

To prep your skin I recommend you cleanse your face then steam with warm water for about 10 minutes to open your face. Then apply your mask evenly avoiding the eye area and let it sit for about 15 minutes and wash it off with warm water. Do not forget to apply moisturizer afterwards!

Hope this helped you with acne issues you have. You can definitely notice a brighter complexion and fewer breakouts when used regularly!

Easy & DIY Methods to Tame Frizzy Hair

Hello Friends!

Few things are more frustrating than watching your coiffed hair gradually blur out into a frizzy, poofy mess. Frizz can be brought on by damage caused by heat or protein-stripping products, the natural texture of your hair, and our personal favorite and equal opportunity frizz-producer: humidity. In the continued war against frizzy, unruly hair, we’ve put together a list of the best simple and DIY methods worth trying before the next humid day gets the best of your locks and looks.

Avoid Alcohol Products
Products that contain alcohol tend to dry out your hair leading to breakage, a lackluster appearance and yes, frizz. So check your hair product labels and chuck ones with alcohol.

Use Products with Polymers & Silicone
Tons of hair products promise to tame frizz, but focus on looking for conditioners, leave-in treatments, styling products, etc. that say they contain polymers or silicone on the label (often listed in the forms of PVP Copolymer and dimethicone, respectively, on the label).
Polymers and silicone coat your hair to help keep your style in place and also act as barriers between your hair strands and the outside moisture that causes frizzy, poofy, unkempt hair. While they aren’t perfect, polymers and silicone will help to reduce frizz caused by humidity.

Condition the Ends
Make sure that the ends of your hair (the driest and frizziest part of your mane) get conditioned well to help them lay smooth rather than pop out.

When you’re in the shower, apply your conditioner starting at the ends of your hair and then work the product up toward your scalp. Or, you can instead use a leave-in conditioner for an added barrier—after showering, apply the conditioner starting at the ends and working your way up.

Cool Wash
Frizz happens when the cuticle of your hair is open or raised. The flatter the cuticle lays, the healthier and shinier your hair looks. One way you can keep the cuticle flat is to blast your hair with cold water right after you condition, just before you get out of the shower.

T-Shirt Dry
It’s best to let your hair air-dry—the heat from blow-drying damages your hair, causing it to get even frizzier.
But don’t be tempted to reach for a towel to speed up the air-drying process: Too much friction can aggravate the cuticle of the hair, ruining that cold wash you just endured for frizz-free, shiny hair.

Instead of using a thick, rough towel, dry hair with a clean, soft t-shirt by twisting the hair within the shirt. Do not rub up and down at the scalp or the ends as this can damage the cuticle and lead to even more frizz.

If you’re air-drying your hair over night, you can also wrap your hair in the t-shirt while you sleep.

Tie-It Back
If your hair gets poofy after you’ve just blow-dried it, loosely tie it back in a low bun and let it out when you get to your destination or right before you leave your home. This will help smooth out and tame down frizz. And pulling your hair back low and loosely won’t indent it like a ponytail will.

Avoid Brushing
If your hair tends to be frizzy, the best thing you can do is to not brush it. Brushing dry hair can stretch out the hair cuticle, while brushing wet hair can damage the hair shaft leading to hair loss. It’s best to just gently comb your fingers through your hair or use a wide-tooth comb to distribute conditioner if you need to.

Skip Shampoos
Washing your hair everyday can strip your hair of the natural oils it needs to maintain a healthy, frizz-free appearance. Instead, rinse hair with water, rub your scalp and roots to stimulate the area (this will help prevent it from clogging with oils), and apply conditioner (starting at the ends), then rinse.

Or, skip the water entirely and use a dry shampoo at the roots to give your hair body and soak up unwanted oil.

Re-Condition
Frizz often shows first at the ends of your hair, leaving hair looking dry and unhealthy, even when it’s not. So mix up a little re-conditioner to keep it in-check. (Note: These tricks are also great for controlling those pesky fly-aways.)

In your palm, squeeze a dime size amount of conditioner and add water until it is a thin consistency. Apply the mix to the ends of your dry hair (make sure to be really careful if you're applying it near your scalp, as you don’t want your hair to look oily or unwashed!). This should not make your hair soaking wet, but just wet enough to help the ends lay down. Now let your hair dry fully.

Another option: simply apply some coconut oil to your dry hair. Dab just a small bit on your fingers, and run it into your hair, applying first to the tips and then working your way midway up (go easy near your scalp—you don’t want to look oily, plus coconut oil can be pore clogging and cause breakouts in some).

Deep Condition: Avocado + Olive Oil Hair Mask
Frizzy hair tends to need more moisture than regular hair, so a weekly moisturizing mask can be exceptionally beneficial. There are several hair masks you can apply to frizzy hair, but this one with avocado and olive oil is particularly helpful. Avocado and olive oil add moisture to help smooth frizziness, and olive oil also helps act as an emollient to keep your hair moisturized.
Directions:
Mash up one avocado and mix in a splash of olive oil. Shampoo your hair first, then apply the mask, starting at the tips of your hair and working it generously up to your scalp. Slip on a shower cap and let your hair absorb all the nutrients for 30 minutes to an hour. Afterwards, rinse and condition as normal.

Hello Beauties!

Creams
Lipsticks
Nail polishes
Lotions
Hair dyes and etc.

Why the chemical cosmetics are harmful?

Do you know how many cosmetics products are used in the market nowadays? Near about 50,000. To improve your knowledge I want to tell you that all these cosmetic products have some amount of drugs that is used to prevent thing from decaying. These drugs helps are a sort of remedy for skin problems.

Nearly all of the creams, lotions and moisturizers are made from these preservatives and to overcome the bacteria and fungus these are mixed with cosmetics.

What are natural cosmetics?

When we made cosmetics from natural products, they are called natural cosmetics. In these cosmetics the natural resources are so many kinds of flowers and plants. We may name these cosmetics as herbal skin care products, because the basic elements of these cosmetics are used sensibly and carefully, especially by trying to avoid unnecessary risks. The natural cosmetics have a positive effect that it didn’t reacts on our skin and gives us comfort. These natural cosmetics have herbs, roots and flowers which help us in curing for skin infections and small marks of the skin of face and other parts of the body, which damages its appearance. The manufactures are producing these natural cosmetics for Ayurvedic recipes of India that are harmless for skin.

Makeup for HD photography/ Look good in photos

Hello Beauties!

I’m pretty sure all you girls can relate when I say that I take pictures every time I do my makeup and often I used to get disappointed looking cakey, ashy or washed out. Today’s post is about getting photo ready makeup done on you or someone else. It’s all about knowing your needs and using the right products for it.
Face
Prepping before makeup application is vital! If you know that you have an event coming up, don’t forget to pamper your skin more than usual at least 3 days early. This way you will prevent breaking out and basically have manageable skin on that day.

I highly recommend you get a cleanup done at a salon. If not use an oil controlling clay mask. Clay masks or charcoal masks are known to absorb dirt and oil stuck in your pores which lead to breakouts. You will notice a significant change in your skin when you do this. So once you’re done prepping beforehand, you need to work on your foundation. Stay away from any foundations with spf if the event I indoors as even the least bit of spf will give a white cast on your face with flash photography.

Prime your face with water or gel based primer. If you’re like me and have oily skin, try the benefit professional. It controls oils for the longest time and also provides a smooth canvas for my foundation.
Getting the right shade is vital! Match the foundation to your neck and don’t go for a full coverage if your skin is really good and well behaved.

Use liquid highlighters if you have normal skin on your cheek area. I suggest you avoid shimmery highlighters.

  Eyes
Neutral shades are best for photography unless you’re posing for artistic pictures! DO NOT opt for glitters and shimmers as it will reflect back and give prominence to the colour on your lids instead of giving balanced exposure. Matte or pearl finishes are perfect!

If you want a Smokey eye, go for more diffused ones with browns instead of using straight up black.
Small details like tighlining and filling in your brows make a huge difference to the overall quality of your makeup.

If you choose to wear falsies, avoid the plastic looking ones as in flash they tend to shine which makes it so obvious that your wearing false lashes. Try the ones which have hairs like natural ones. I recommend ardell falsies.

Lips
Just as shimmer eye shadows won’t do justice for photography, shimmery rather frosty lipsticks will not make you look your best. Try to stick with matte formulated shades even if you want a old hot pink lip. Matte lipsticks tend to be drying on your lips so don’t forget to exfoliate your lips and apply lip balm beforehand. If you want your lips to look plump, apply a lip gloss on the centre of your lips only! Don’t over use glosses.

If you have really pigmented lips, apply concealer to your entire lips after applying lip balm and follow it up with liner and lipstick.

Final touches that make a world of difference!
1-Powder your T zone only if you have oily skin.

2-Finish off your makeup with a reliable finishing spray

3-If you need to touch up don’t apply powder over the oily areas. Instead lot the area and remove the excess oil and then apply powder. This prevents a caked up face.

4-Bring down your foundation to your neck even if you think your foundation is the perfect match! (HD photography shows every difference)

How to make dry shampoo at home and how to make a Honey face mask for acne

Hello Beauties!

Beauty is pretty expensive these days with the quality of products linked to high price tags. It can defiantly be a lot pricey than how it used to at least a decade ago. DIY’s are a great way to save money and also to pamper yourself often than how you would have earlier with store bought products. There are still great products on budget which works and you can get off the shelf but since you know what exactly that’s going in the DIY its always safe.

DIY Honey face mask to get brighter glowing skin

This mask is great for those with any type of skin especially acne prone! Honey is a natural antibacterial which removes deep seated bad bacteria and leaves in the ones needed for your skin to be hydrated. You cannot just slap the honey on your face and expect it to work. You need to prep your skin beforehand.

Step 1 tie tour hair back and wash your face well removing all the impurities. Then steam your face to open up the pores.
Step 2 smear a teaspoon of honey all over your face and massage your face. If you feel it’s hard to smear then apply little water before hand all over your face.
Step 3 leave this mask on for about 20 minutes and wash it off with warm water and moisturize afterwards.

Use this mask for about 2 weeks at least twice a day.

DIY dry shampoo
Dry shampoo is one of the greatest inventions for hair! It can definitely solve the issue of bad hair days in no time. If you’re too lazy for all these try baby powder! It’s a simple dry shampoo to absorb the oils in your hair.
Now for this DIY, you need:

1-Six drops of your favourite essential oil or lemon
2-Two tablespoons or corn starch
3-Two tablespoons of rice flour

Mix them all up and store them in a shaker like a salt shaker so that you can use them often. Dry shampoos suck up excess oils and also volumize your hair from the roots. You definitely need to try this!

10 Beauty tips you never knew

Hello Friends!

This post is going to be a fun and interesting one! I love reading random beauty tips and tricks as these are really the small things that make huge differences! Today’s article is going to be one as such. So sit back and enjoy girls!
Beauty tip 1: always remove any makeup off before bed as sleeping with it on, can make you age up to 7 times faster.

Beauty tip 2: to avoid the lipstick appear true to colour, apply some concealer over your lips before applying the colour. This basically covers your pigmented lips.

Beauty tip 3: use a BB cream that’s a couple shades lighter than your natural skin tone to cover up your flaws.

Beauty tip 4: makeup brushes are reusable but not sponges. Although it may claim so, it’s one product that collects bacteria faster thus makes you break out.

Beauty tip 5: cleaning your makeup brushes? Use baby shampoo instead of those expensive brush cleansers that break your wallet! Baby shampoo is way cheaper and gentler on your brushes.

Beauty tip 6: top coats and base coats are not the same and they cannot be used for each other’s purposes.

Beauty tip 7: if your nail polish is staining your nail, try a base coat with nail strengthening properties instead.

Beauty tip 8: consuming more sugar doesn’t give you pimples instead what they give is wrinkles! Yes, consumption of sugar breaks down collagen thus giving wrinkles.

Beauty tip 9: the purpose of a lip liner is not only lining your lips. But instead its best used as a base for your lipstick so that your lipstick wears longer. So don’t forget to fill in your lips with a lip liner!

Beauty tip 10: use a little toothpaste over your pimple overnight to reduce the redness.

Hope this was a little exciting for you girls and you learnt a little as well ;)

10 Uses of Olive oil

Hello Friends!
I write on about the various uses of olive oil. Olive oil is a great natural fat to add to your diet especially if you’re trying to lose weight but that’s not just the only benefit.
So let’s see what are the other interesting uses of olive oil!

1-Shaving: olive oil is a great lubricant to be used instead of a shaving cream. However another great thing is that it’s great to sooth your skin afterwards too! You will realise how soft your skin would be as opposed to shaving with regular shaving cream.
2-Cuticle moisturizer: feeling that your cuticles are flaking? Slap on some olive oil and massage into the areas to moisturize the.
3-A great step in your manicure: soak your fingers in a bowl with warm water and olive oil to moisturize and prep your fingers for a manicure.
4-Ease removing messy ingredients: coat your measuring cups and utensils with olive oil before using them with suborn ingredients like honey and sugar syrups.
5-Tame hair frizz: if you have stubborn fly aways, tame it down with olive oil and com them in place.
6-Free a zipper: use olive oil as a lubricant to loosen up your stuck zipper.
7-Avoid snoring: having a sip of olive oil will instantly clear your throat and prevent you from snoring.
8-Exfoliation: exfoliation usually makes your skin dry but using olive oil instead of anything else will instantly make your exfoliation less harsh.
9-Great makeup remover: I have tried this and it sure does work great to remove all traces of makeup especially water proof makeup which is a bonus!
10-Prevent and cure lice: massage warm olive oil onto your hair and leave it on for about an hour and continue on with your normal hair routine. This will work effective for those problematic lice.
